Full Job Description

+ Maintaining clients' bookkeeping using accounting software, mainly QuickBooks and Xero but also have a working knowledge of a variety other digital systems. This would include inputting invoices and bank transactions and completion of bank reconciliations.
+ Preparation of VAT returns for clients using accounting software
+ Assistance with the setup of new clients on QuickBooks and Xero software, training client staff members and addressing queries on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Ideally the successfully applicant would have 2+ years' experience in general practice.

  • An ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing in English, Self driven and highly motivated to work hard both practically and academically

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner

  • Computer literacy

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, methodical, and numerical

  • Effective time and task management skills

  • Well presented, outgoing, socially confident, and emotionally controlled.

The firm is looking for someone to join the Bridgwater office and become a key member of the team providing a range of services to our clients. This role is ideally suited to a qualified Accounting Technician or qualified Bookkeeper but applications will be considered from those who are qualified by experience.

  • The position is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday but would consider part time with a minimum of 20 hours.

  • Pay: £20,000 - £26,000 per annum (pro rata) and dependent upon experience.
