W&I Broker - Assistant Vice President

Lockton are currently recruiting an experienced M&A specialist to join our Transactional Risks team in Manchester.

As a member of the Transactional risks team you will be responsible for providing advice and working on complex M&A transactions in the placing of W&I insurance. As the team continues to grow this experienced hire will be there to assist clients and support the well-established Transactional Risks team.

Role responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in business development, helping to foster relationships with existing clients (including law firms, private equity and corporate finance houses in particular) as well as reaching out to new potential clients


• Where required assist in business development, to include: attending presentations, conferences, researching and writing content for articles and publications as required Management of the W&I workstream;


• 
  
• Lead initial conversations with clients and/or their advisers


• Assisting junior team members in preparing submissions and report on terms documents to ensure the policy terms offered align with the clients requirements.


• Analyse transaction documents and provide advice to the client and its advisers on the likely insurable position


• Review DD reports in order to understand areas where coverage may be impacted to help plan for and around this


• Lead negotiations with markets on the coverage position Manage process through to successfully putting policies on risk


• Assist junior team members in understanding complex policy matters

  Strong technical skills and an understanding of typical M&A transaction documents


• Strong interpersonal skills


• Business acumen


• Strong analytical and problem solving skills


• Experience of working in a fast paced client facing environment


• Some experience of transaction liability products preferred but not essential
