Yard Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Yard Manager to oversee the operation of our transport yard. The Yard Manager will be responsible for managing the yard team and security personnel, and ensuring efficient operations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage resources.

• Drive company vans as required


• Establish and maintain a cleanliness standard for all vehicles.


Duties:

• Assisting with access control and logging entries and exits from the yard.


• Assisting returning vehicles and visitors with parking correctly.


• Inventory management of cleaning, vehicle, washing and yard supplies.


• Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping


• Keeping the yard tidy and organized with equipment and vehicles in the correct locations.


• Assisting with loading and unloading of vehicles and/or containers as required, and ensuring company equipment is stored securely.


• Refuelling of yard plant and vehicles.


• Perform general yard movements of company vehicles and equipment.


• Assist with minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.
  
  Previous experience in yard operations or related roles.


• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


Preferred skills but not essential:

• Experience operating forklifts and other yard equipment.


• HGV driver's license (tacho and CPC not essential).


• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
