Full Job Description

  • General warehouse duties and stock management

  • Picking orders, loading and unloading and related paperwork

  • Customer service - dealing with customers in person

  • Driving forklift

  • The role offers scope to develop selling skills, customer service and an understanding of materials, stock control, orders and deliveries.

    Counterbalance forklift licence

  • GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or a good understanding of metric and imperial measurements and basic mental arithmetic)

  • Good paperwork skills

  • Confident communicator

  • Proven teamwork skills

  • Naturally tidy and organised

  • Willingness to engage with customers and provide good customer service

  • Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised once trained

  • Reliable, industrious, adaptable and quick to grasp new concepts

  • Manual handling up to 25kg

    Up to 85% of the built environment you see around you is supplied by Britain's builders' merchants. Merchants and the supply chain are crucial to the construction industry which contributes over £40 billion to the UK economy each year. A career in this essential commercial sector can be challenging, varied and rewarding.

    42.5 hours per week to be worked from Monday to Friday (7:30am - 16:30pm) and alternative Saturday mornings.

    Pay:

    Negotiable according to experience., Include death-in-service cover, NEST pension scheme membership, uniform and boot money allowance. 30 days holidays including bank holidays. Discretionary bonuses.
