Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity in a multi-disciplinary team to assist in the delivery of effective, safe and child-focused services to children and young people in the Youth Justice System. and their families and carers. To support young people on Youth Justice Court Orders within own caseload, and in support of ISS and high-risk Youth Justice cases. To provide input and interventions in a child first approach to safeguard young people, protect the public and reduce future reoffending. To work directly with parents/carers to promote positive and safe outcomes in partnership with other agencies.
About the role

To enable young people in the Youth Justice System to change their behaviour and ensure the safety of others and the young person.

To build relationships with young people based on their individual needs, responding to their heritage, neuro diversity, learning style and self-identity enabling them to develop a safe and positive future.

The ability to complete assessments, develop intervention plans and keep accurate records on a Case Management System. An understanding to the child first approach and the ability to build positive relationships with young people and parents and carer. The ability to engage with young people within the Youth Justice system.

  • Driving Licence

  • Experience of working with 10 - 17 year olds

  • Experience of the Youth Justice System

    This role has been identified as requiring a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.

    Driving required
    You'll need to have the ability to drive and/or travel around Hertfordshire, either using your own mode of transport or a company car to travel to other locations.

    English Fluency
    The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).
